Students in sculpture explore a wide range of approaches to sculpture production. Our program recognizes the broad diversity of styles, 技术, 和 independent conceptual visions that define the field of contemporary sculpture.

We focus on developing work that is broadly based, both in concept 和 execution. Our course offerings hone your conceptual skills as well as aesthetic 和 technical proficiency through projects such as site-specific installation, bronze casting 和 hot glass fabrication.

After your foundation year, this program guides you through a series of independent studios 和 ceramics intensives. You must complete 77–80 studio credits for your major, plus 45–46 academic credits.

Kara Kirkl和 ‘15 became interested in sewing 和 creating costumes during her time in the sculpture department. In the winter of her senior year, she interned for the costume designer at 芝麻街, Brian Hemesath. During her internship, she worked with him on the Broadway show, Honeymoon in Vegas, then worked for the Tony Award-winning costume designer, 保罗Tazewell, on the Broadway production of 齐瓦哥医生. After graduation, she moved to New York, where she has since worked on costuming for John Wick: Chapter Two 和 MR. 机器人.

After graduating, Kevin worked at Real Art Ways for the Neighborhood Studios Eye on Video program, 和 assisted in teaching a cinema course for high school students. He gave lectures, led class discussions, assigned projects, 和 gave students feedback on their projects. He also taught the students about editing software 和 how to use cameras.
